Gina Domanig is the founder and Managing Partner of Emerald Technology Ventures, a globally recognized venture capital firm focused on energy, water, advanced materials and industrial IT investing in North America and Europe. Gina currently serves on the boards of the following portfolio companies:
- GeoDigital International Inc, a geo-spatial intelligence provider for electric utilities
- Spear Power Systems Inc, a battery management solutions provider for aerospace and marine
- Urgently Inc, a digital platform for roadside assistance
In addition to Emerald activities, Gina holds the following positions:
- Board member of Die Mobiliar Genossenschaft;
- Board member and Chair of the Nomination and Compensation Committee of u-blox AG, a publicly-listed global leader in wireless communications and positioning semiconductors;
Board member and Chair of the Nomination and Compensation Committee of Solarpack Corporación Tecnológica SA, a publicly-listed, multinational utility-scale solar power plant developer and operator; - Board member of BASE (Basel Agency for Sustainable Energy), a Swiss foundation and Specialized Partner of the United Nations Environment;
- Advisory Board member, Institute on the Environment, University of Minnesota; and
- Advisory Board member, Prime Impact Fund
Gina has over 35 years of international business experience including M&A, strategy development, and venture capital. Prior to starting Emerald, she was senior vice president at Sulzer, a Swiss multinational, responsible for strategic planning and M&A. Gina holds MBA degrees from Thunderbird in Arizona and ESADE in Barcelona and is fluent in English, German and Spanish. She grew up in the USA, is a citizen of both Switzerland and France and lives in Zurich, Switzerland.
