Tinne Van der Straeten

Tinne Van der Straeten has a Master in African Languages and Cultures and a Master of Law.

In 2007 she got elected to the federal parliament of which she was a member until 2010.

Consequently she established Blixt with a partner. A boutique law firm where she gained 9 years of experience in the energy sector.

In 2018 she became alderman of Public Works in Koekelberg. A few months later she was re-elected to the federal parliament.

In October 2020 she became Minister of Energy.

Her expertise in energy is highly respected. People know her as a woman who tries to find common ground and build bridges between people, no matter what their conviction or political membership.

She works on the energy transition with passion and expertise.

Tinne Van der Straeten lives in Brussels. She was a board member of many organizations, such as the King Baudoin Foundation and the Centre of General Welfare of Brussels. Positions she left when she was appointed, minister of Energy.

She’s a mother of two.
